Denmark Surf Life Saving Club was formed in November 1958 after a tragic double drowning at Ocean Beach. In the days after the tragedy a town meeting was called and the Denmark Surf Life Saving Club was formed. A small group of young men from the town received training from visiting lifesavers from the City of Perth club, with the first patrol at Ocean Beach commencing on the 14th December 1958. In 2008, the Denmark Club celebrated their 50th anniversary with a weekend of activities to which a fair number of those who were involved in the formative years managed to attend.
The Club now has now grown to have one of the best located clubrooms on the WA coast, much to the envy of many visiting members from other clubs. Our membership totals nearly 300, with around 130 juniors participating in our nipper program. We have four patrol teams rostered on weekends from the first weekend in December until the last weekend in March.
